U.S. News Ranks McKendree in Top Tier of Midwest Regional Universities, Best Value Schools, More

LEBANON, Ill., Sept. 24, 2024) – McKendree University ranks once again in the top tier of regional universities in U.S. News & World Report’s 2024-25 “Best Colleges” edition, released on Sept. 24, 2024. U.S. News rated participating institutions in the Regional Universities category nationwide, and McKendree is ranked no. 82 among the Best Regional Universities in the Midwest. The rankings are split into four regions: North, South, West and Midwest.
Among Midwest regional universities, McKendree was also recognized for distinction in other categories, including “Best Value Schools” at no. 49, “Best Colleges for Veterans” at no. 37 and “Top Performer on Social Mobility” at no. 52. Other rankings include “Best Online Master’s in Education Programs” at no. 100 and “Best Online Master’s in Nursing Programs” at no. 109.
The 2024-25 U.S. News “Best Colleges” rankings evaluate nearly 1,500 U.S. four-year bachelor’s degree-granting institutions, grouped within 10 distinct overall rankings where colleges and universities were compared with schools that shared their academic mission. These institutions are evaluated on up to 17 ranking factors, including graduation and retention rates, social mobility, strength of faculty and low rates of student debt among graduates.
