New moms and moms-to-be invited to join HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for annual “Bundles for Babies

O’FALLON, Ill. — Expecting a bundle of joy? New and expectant moms and their families will be treated to a holiday baby shower of educational resources about pregnancy, newborns, child safety and more at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital’s Women and Infants Center’s “Bundles for Babies” event on Saturday, Dec. 13. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the hospital’s lobby.
 
“Our Women and Infants staff and providers will be on hand to answer any ‘what to expect when you’re expecting’ questions,” shares Tracy Mensing, HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital’s Women and Infants Center Manager. “From safe sleep and breastfeeding to delivery and postpartum care, our team is here to support you through every stage of your journey.”
 
This festive event is open to the whole family. There will a crafts table for kids to enjoy. Additionally, child passenger safety technicians will be available to provide free car seat checks for children of all ages.
 
Each family will receive two raffle tickets for door prizes, with the option of buying additional tickets for $1 each. Prizes include a car seat and portable crib, in addition to prizes offered by each resource table. Funds raised will support moms who need additional assistance for safe sleep space for their newborns.
 
Representatives from Birth to Five, The Doula Lab, Healthy Start, Cardinal Glennon, Pregnancy Care Center, Little Peek Boutique and more will be present and ready to answer questions about their services.
 
The Women and Infants Center at HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is a Gold Cribs of Kids National Safe Sleep Hospital, with a dedicated Obstetric (OB) Emergency Department open 24/7, two cesarean (C-section) dedicated surgical suites, an OB anesthesia team and OB/Gyn Hospitalists on the unit.
