Hospice of Southern Illinois Invites the Community to 2nd Annual “Lighting Our Community” Memorial
Belleville, IL – Hospice of Southern Illinois invites the community to join in remembrance and reflection during the annual Lighting Our Community event, a special memorial tree lighting and candlelight vigil to honor the lives that continue to shine in our hearts.
The event will take place on Tuesday, December 2nd from 5:00 – 5:30 p.m. between Hospice of Southern Illinois’ two Belleville offices at 305 S. Illinois St. and 333 S. Illinois St., Belleville, IL 62220.
This touching evening will feature music, a candlelight vigil, a shared moment of reflection, and the lighting of the Hospice of Southern Illinois’ 20-foot community tree, which will remain lit throughout the holiday season as a symbol of love, memory, and togetherness.
“Lighting Our Community is a meaningful way for families, friends, and neighbors to pause and remember their loved ones while connecting with others who share the same sentiment of remembrance and hope,” said Lisa Phillipson, Community Relations and Education Director at Hospice of Southern Illinois.
The event is free and open to everyone (you do not have to have lost a loved in the Hospice of Southern Illinois program), and hot chocolate will be served. Guests are encouraged to bundle up and join us in rain, snow, or shine for this heartwarming tradition.
