Metro east businesses invited to join HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital for a Community Cake Walk to celebrate 150th Anniversary in 2025
O’FALLON, Ill. — HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital is approaching its 150th year of providing care to the communities of Southwestern Illinois. January 2025 will kick off a full year of public events and activities to highlight the rich history and continued growth over the many decades.
To extend the celebration outside of the hospital’s wall, St. Elizabeth’s is announcing a special opportunity for area businesses and groups to participate in a Community Cake Walk to further highlight the vibrant spirit of our community and bring foot traffic to our area.
The Cake Walk is a fun and engaging way to bring people to area businesses or organizations while celebrating the hospital’s long-time service to the community. Area businesses are invited to participate by decorating and displaying a large outdoor cake at their location. Cakes will be on display April through October 2025.
The public and all St. Elizabeth’s Hospital colleagues will be encouraged to visit each business as part of the Cake Walk, where they will have the chance to vote for their favorite decorated cake. Prizes will be awarded to the winning business and to the public in a drawing for those who visit every location.
If your business or organization is interested or has any questions, contact Cathy Bunn at Cathy.Bunn@hshs.org or sign up here (https://forms.gle/QaVAYsHePUixUAqe9). The cake cost is $1,200, which covers the cost of the cake itself. The cakes will be delivered to participating businesses, who will then decorate them in their own unique style and theme. The deadline to participate and order a cake is Dec. 31, 2024.
