(SHILOH, Ill.) – BARBERMURPHY, the largest central and southern commercial real estate brokerage firm in downstate Illinois, now licensed in Missouri, is pleased to announce the addition of two brokers to its growing team of office, retail, industrial and investment brokers.
Ethan Gowin joins the firm as broker associate after nearly six years working in the construction industry as a project manager for Contegra Construction Co.
Gowin earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Missouri Trulaske College of Business.
While at Contegra, Gowin was responsible for conducting due diligence, securing land entitlements, estimating, designing and managing construction projects from inception to completion. He has worked alongside end users, capital partners, development companies and real estate firms across the U.S. to deliver millions of square feet of commercial real estate.
“I’m a people person and really enjoy connecting with people and assisting them in the development and construction of their projects,” said Gowin. “This passion to connect owners with builders and build-to-suit opportunities drove me to seek the transition into commercial real estate. I’m grateful to be working steadily and learning much about the industrial side of our business at BARBERMURPHY from senior broker and principal Steve Zuber.”
Katie Bush is BARBERMURPHY’s second most recent team member. With a military family background and an entrepreneurial spirit, Bush came to BARBERMURPHY after founding and growing her niche e-commerce business. Katie has been with the firm since 2021 in the marketing department and recently attained her broker’s license in 2023. Her marketing expertise and attention to detail has propelled her from the front office to broker status.
“So much of real estate coincides with marketing,” Bush said. “I’ve always had a keen interest in real estate since our family relocated a lot via the military. Our top priority at BARBERMURPHY is putting our clients first and making sure that we’re successfully marketing their properties. I’m excited to collaborate with the talented team of brokers at BARBERMURPHY, leveraging my skillsets to aid in the marketing and sale of office and investment properties.”
Bush graduated from Ashford University with a bachelor’s degree in health/healthcare administration and management.
