Job Description

Job Summary: A business in St. Clair County is looking for a Patient Account Representative to join their team! The PAR is responsible for resolving outstanding unpaid and/or unprocessed medical claims and denied claims submitted to third-party payors. Requires accessing third-party payor web sites, placing outgoing phone calls, accepting incoming phone calls, sending and receiving facsimiles, and sending and receiving correspondence to and from third-party payors and various government agencies at the local, county, state and federal levels. Explains statements to patients, assists patients in applying for financial assistance, and frequently interfaces with collection agencies.

Location: St. Clair County, IL
Position type: Full Time, Evaluation Hire
Pay: $12-$18, Based on Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Must have experience processing medical billing payments
  • Must be familiar with Medicaid and Medicare
  • Must be familiar with medical billing and coding process
  • Minimum 2 years of experience processing insurance claim is preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of payor/insurance follow up is preferred
